The Rider

CRAVE the COASTERER

– a thankfully brief biography –

Since I was tall enough to remember, I’ve been addicted. Sometimes, I’d do it as many as 15 times a day. “Ahhh roller coasters, I love you.” From my first coaster (The Viper at Darien Lake), to the first to make me throw up (Kumba at Busch Gardens Tampa), to my first coaster in Japan (Roller Coaster at Hanayashiki), I’ll never get enough of these beloved sinuous beasts!

My dream was to become a roller coaster designer but after nearly flunking out of Design and Drawing classes I chose a different path. I’m now a writer and educator exploring the vast landscape of amusement parks across the globe. My experience and expertise in the amusement industry granted me the chance to serve as a consulting editor in the May/June amusement park themed issue of AppleSeeds magazine. I’m currently researching for newspaper and magazine articles and also for an untitled non-fiction book on roller coasters and amusement parks.
